What we collect
If you send an enquiry through this website we collect your name, email address, phone number and your message. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, which sets cookies in your browser. We can’t identify you from it. You can block cookies in your browser settings if you’d rather not have them.
Spam protection
The enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being sent by a person.
Bookings
Bookings and payments go through our online booking system. When you click Check Availability you leave this website, so the booking provider’s privacy policy applies from that point.
Videos and maps
The videos on this site play from Vimeo and the map comes from Google Maps. Both may set their own cookies when they load.
Keeping your information
Enquiries are kept in our email and in this website’s control panel so we can find them later. We never sell your information or pass it on to anyone else.
Getting in touch
If you’d like a copy of what we hold about you, or you’d like it deleted, call Steven on 0412 280 960.
Privacy Policy
This policy applies to personal information handled by Sinnamons Cottage in Maldon and Sinnamon’s By The Sea in Kilcunda, collectively referred to as “Sinnamon’s Cottages”, “we” or “us”.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, contact details, booking dates, guest numbers, payment and transaction information, accommodation preferences, and correspondence relating to your stay.
Please only provide information about other guests with their permission. Avoid providing sensitive information unless necessary to arrange your stay.
How we collect and use information
We collect information directly when you enquire, book or stay with us. We may also receive information through Preno, payment providers and booking platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and Stayz.
We use information to manage reservations, process payments and refunds, send arrival instructions, arrange services, respond to requests or complaints, and meet legal, taxation and accounting obligations.
Without information reasonably needed for a reservation, we may be unable to confirm or manage your booking.
Sharing information
We may share relevant information with booking-system providers, payment processors, booking platforms, accountants and other service providers where reasonably necessary for these purposes.
People assisting with cleaning, maintenance or your stay will only receive information reasonably needed for their work.
Information may also be disclosed where required or authorised by law.
Payment information
Payment providers handle card information under their own security procedures and privacy policies. Please do not send full card details by email or text message.
Overseas processing
Some booking, payment, email and technology providers may store or process information outside Australia. Locations depend on the provider and its arrangements. Their privacy policies explain how they handle information supplied through their services.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. No electronic system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information as reasonably needed to manage bookings, maintain records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. When no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
Marketing and online services
Promotional communications will comply with applicable consent requirements and provide a way to unsubscribe. Essential communications about an existing booking may still be sent.
Website and booking-system providers may use cookies or similar technologies to operate their services. Browser settings allow you to manage cookies, although restrictions may affect booking functionality.
External websites and services have their own privacy policies.
Access, corrections and complaints
Contact us to request access to your personal information, correct inaccurate information or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity.
We will consider requests and complaints and respond within a reasonable time. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why, subject to legal restrictions.
Where applicable, you may also seek advice or lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy as our practices or requirements change. The current version will be available through our websites or booking system.
